Request Account to Administer Penn Computerized Neurocognitive Battery

Thank you for expressing interest in using the Penn computerized neurocognitive battery (CNB). The CNB was developed by Dr. Ruben C. Gur and colleagues at the Brain Behavior Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania. The CNB is comprised of a series of neurocognitive tests that have been applied in neuroimaging studies and can be used either in a scanner as part of a functional neuroimaging study or outside a scanner for measuring individual differences in performance. The tests measure accuracy and speed of performance in major domains of cognition, including executive-control functions (abstraction, attention, working memory), episodic memory (verbal, facial, spatial), complex cognitive processing (language reasoning, nonverbal reasoning, spatial processing), social cognition (emotion identification, emotion intensity differentiation, age differentiation) and sensorimotor and motor speed. The CNB platform is hosted on a secured University of Pennsylvania Web Server and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. The CNB team is committed to protecting the privacy of our users and we want to provide a safe and secure user experience. Please refer to our privacy policy for additional details.

Before providing access to our computerized neurocognitive tests, we ask that you provide:

Upon approval, we will provide access to an online account that allows the investigator to administer the CNB tasks. Only one account will be approved per investigator. If you require a customized battery, multiple accounts or other project specific materials, please contact our Service Center team via email at cnb-service@bbl.med.upenn.edu.

We cannot provide any support for this application (PennCNP) outside of the documentation that will be provided. We will also not assume responsibility for.

  1. Analysis of data produced by our tasks
  2. Availability of Normative datasets outside of published CNB normative datasets.
  3. Integrity of individual studies conducted with our materials but outside of our laboratory.
  4. Training of those administering our tests.
  5. Interpretation of results.
  6. Loss of data resulting or arising from any non-availability or use of the site

Thank you for expressing interest in our neurocognitive tests and stimuli. If these conditions are acceptable, please click on the button below that says "I Agree" and fill out the following form. We can then proceed with emailing you instructions for accessing the tests and interface. Should you have further questions or requests, please contact us via email penncnp@mail.med.upenn.edu.

Best regards,
Ruben C. Gur, Ph.D.
